「受容、寛容、勇気、慈しみ。これらは、私の母が教えてくれたことです。」"Acceptance, tolerance, bravery, compassion. These are the things my mom taught me." [1]
大人にとっても、同情と慈しみの間に散らばる複雑な感情を区別することは、しばしば厄介なことです。
私の子どもが通う学校のコアバリューのひとつに「Compassion（慈愛）」がありますが、母親である私は日々子どもたちから多くのことを学んでいます。
同じように「共感」と日本語で一言で言っても英語で表すと言葉が複数あります。
シンパシーは相手の気持ちを想像して理解する哀れみの気持ちであり、必ずしも行動を必要とするものではありません。
コンパッションとは他人の苦しみを和らげようと望む気持ちで、相手のために努力して実際に行動を起こすことまでもしばし含みます。
具体的に行動を起こすのは大きなパワーがいることなので、日常生活で簡単にできるような他人に対して思いやりの気持ちを示すコツを紹介してみたいと思います。
ハーバード・ビジネス・レビュー [2] によれば、褒め言葉は社会的な接着剤となり、職場の人間関係においてつながりや積極性を感じさせ、そして何よりもまず私たちを幸せにしてくれるのだそうです。
本物の褒め言葉を作るには、相手の精神状態、行動、性格、思考、感情などなど、、、相手のことを深く読み取り考えることが必要です。
その思考プロセスの中で、他人への思いやりや気遣いが生まれてくるそうです。
さて。
図書館で、普段は選ばないような本を読み始めました。

Even for adults, differentiating complicated feelings between sympathy and compassion is often tricky.
One of the core values of my children's school is Compassion, and as a mom, I learn so much from my children every day.
Sympathy is the sense of pity of imagining and understanding what a person feels, which does not always require actions.
Compassion is the willingness to relieve the suffering of another. Compassion requires us to make efforts and actions for others.
I introduce an easy tip to show kindness and compassion to others in everyday life.
According to Harvard Business Review [2], compliments can become a social glue that can enhance our feeling of connection and positivity in relationships in the workplace and, above all, make us happier!
Making a "genuine" compliment requires us to think about someone else deeply — their mental state, behaviour, personality, thoughts, and feelings.
Well, at a library, I started reading a book I wouldn't usually choose.
A mom is sitting on her favourite comfortable couch, remembering a quote from Lady Gaga.
